Prickly City: Are we all hypocrites?

Democrats wanted former FBI director James Comey fired when they felt he hurt Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, then they were up in arms when Donald Trump let him go. The Republicans applauded investigations into Clinton’s Benghazi and email scandals, but think the investigation into the Trump campaign’s possible ties with Russia is a witch-hunt.

Hypocrites, all of us.

Prickly City: The truth or just more alt facts?

It is always shocking to me how soon candidates get their campaigns ready. More time should be spent concentrating on the job they were elected for than in ways to keep it.

Prickly City: Conspiracy theories

While Hunny is saying that she takes responsibility for her loss in the 2016 election, she refuses to take the blame.

Prickly City: Should we be holding on to our values?

Do values still matter? Will hanging on to ours anchor us in this turbulent world?

I would say yes to both of those questions. Our values are what determine our behavior and our priorities. When our values and lifestyle match, we are happier.

Values, however, are not the same for everyone or the same throughout one’s life.  As we move through life our experiences alter our values, different things become more important than others.

Whatever your values may be, they help ground you and give you direction.

Prickly City: A good thing?

Could the chaos of  today’s politics be a good thing? It does appear that more people than ever are paying attention and getting involved. But can they keep it up?

Prickly City: It could always be worse

Not only could things get worse, they have been in the past. Hopefully we will get through with minimal damage.

Prickly City: It’s all about ‘me’…and my phone.

Have we become too absorbed in our phones and ourselves?  I live in an urban setting and everyday I encounter people who are looking down at their phone and not watching where they are walking and have to squeeze by folks blocking part of the sidewalk as they take their selfies. My favorite are the tables in restaurants where all the occupants are on their individual phones and not conversing with each other.

So the answer is ‘yes’.

Prickly City: Anger, anger, and more anger

Anger seems to be the driving for politics today. We vote in anger, we tweet in anger, we respond to those we disagree with in anger. While it can be an impetus for action, too much just drives a wedge between us. We need to work together to find acceptable compromises.

Prickly City: Everybody does it!

What ca I say? Aging is no fun, especially in this youth-oriented society. There is no getting around it no matter how hard we try.

Prickly City: May Day

It looks like there will be several protests across the country today in protest of President Trump’s immigration policies. Trump has definitely brought protesting back.
