After months of saying he would, then more months saying he wouldn’t, Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner signed HB40, a bill that gives pretty much unquestioned funding to abortion. The two issues at play here are, 1) Should state money go to fund all abortions, and 2) does this Governor believe in ANYTHING?!?!? You know this Republican governor is in trouble when the Republican Floor Leader, Rep. Peter Breen, issues a public statement that ends, ” In the face of overwhelming evidence of Rauner’s inability to competently administer the Illinois government, inability to stand up to Mike Madigan effectively, and inability to keep his word and his commitments, I can no longer support him. And whether or not they are able to agree publicly, I know hundreds of elected Republicans, along with hundreds of thousands of Republican voters, who feel the same way I do.”
